I know there are problems with this photo. This bird caught me by surprise before vanishing, and tracking such a huge, fast thing directly overhead wasn't easy. Given the blur and vantage point, also difficult to ID this one, although some have suggested a Great Horned Owl. Just a guess though!

Last week was Brooklyn's Christmas Bird Count... I wonder if this guy hung around for it.
